Helping Others Globally

The FAUSA Charity Program concentrates on the needs of women and children in the countries south of the United States.  Beginning in 2004, it has supported a literacy program in Guyana, purchased science equipment for a new school in Ribralta, Bolivia, and promoted a school supply project in Bogata, Columbia.

FAUSA has annually funded Estancia Fraternidad, a hostel that provides room and board to an indigent population that must care for family members when in the hospital in Oaxaca, Mexico.  This charity has expanded its services to include an ambulance, a medical dispensary and burial assistance.  In 2006 it provided for 28,500 people from 29 districts and 570 municipalities.

Working Together with FAWCO

FAUSA donated to the FAWCO Malaria Net project and to its Katrina Emergency Relief Fund, which provided a new study room for Dillard University in the Gentilly district of New Orleans.

Where do the funds come from?

Charity funds come from individual members and from an auction held at the Annual Meeting.  From 2004 to 2007, a total of $7,490 was donated to projects in South America, Africa and the United States.
