Representatives from the FAWCO clubs meet annually to discuss and adopt
resolutions which will direct FAWCO's activities for the coming year on
issues such as overseas voting, dual-citizenship, environmental concerns,
literacy, women's health, and human rights. The FAWCO Foundation announces
its Education Award and Development Grant winners at the meeting.
The conference also offers practical training sessions in organizational
development and leadership, which the delegates may use to strengthen their
own organizations.
A FAWCO conference includes speakers, workshops, and cultural opportunities
for the delegates and their guests. Past speakers include Sarah Ferguson,
Duchess of York; the seventh President of Ireland, Mary Robinson; and H.M.
Queen Silvia of Sweden.
From March 10-14, 2010, FAUSA will host the Annual FAWCO Conference in Boston. Besides its important place in American history and its wealth of attractions, Boston is easily accessible from all over the world, making it perfect for a FAWCO Conference.
The stately Boston Park Plaza Hotel is the conference venue. A lovely historic building, the Park Plaza is centrally located, close to Boston's historic landmarks. You may see pictures of the hotel at www.BostonParkPlaza.com.
You may download a copy of the conference description as a pdf file. Boston 2010: Make History.
